URGENT! This correspondence serves to solicit your support for improving the $3.5 trillion spending plan originally presented by President Biden and modified by the House and the Senate. On Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Education and Labor put forth language to begin the reconciliation process, including some gains for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and the students they serve. The United College Fund (UNCF) is leading the charge to ensure that HBCUs receive a fair share of the proposed funding. UNCF believes the Committee, and the whole House, can improve the language and make the bill’s impact truly transformational.
