QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED • Ability to understand verbal instructions • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. • Ability to use hand and/or power tools if applicable • Ability to communicate, read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures • Knowledge of institutional cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment • Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends or evenings, to help facilitate campus events and activities as needed • Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the administration • Skilled in custodial services • Ability to lift up to 25 to 30 pounds, as needed • Requires the ability to walk up and down several floors of steps. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assists with dorm or apartment renovations as needed. • Dusts and mops floors • Vacuums carpets • Waxes floors • Cleans windows and walls • Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies • Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies • Bags trash for proper disposal and empties trash receptacles, to include recycling boxes • Change light bulbs as directed • Locks doors after cleaning areas, as required • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned • Transport custodial supplies and equipment from storage and work areas   QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS • Demonstrates o Trustworthiness o Confidence o Enthusiasm o Initiative o Flexibility o Sound work ethics • Proven Skills o Listening skills o Team player SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Facilities Office Coordinator in accordance with provisions of the Jarvis Christian College Administrative Policies & Procedures Manual.
