Yvonne Hernandez of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) claimed the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Softball Player of the Week award for Feb. 10-16. Hernandez drove in 14 runs in a 2-2 week for the Bulldogs. To start the week, the junior first baseman picked up a pair of RBIs in a 15-7 loss to NCAA Division I opponent, Alcorn State University (Miss.). Hernandez also had three hits and four RBIs in a defeat against NCAA DI Jackson State University (Miss.). JCC then swept a double-header with University of the Ozarks (Ark.) with Hernandez blasting a grand slam in the first game and driving in four more runs in the finale. The Los Angeles native was 9-for-16 on the week with two doubles. She is tied for first in the conference with a .636 batting average, and she is second in RBIs (11). The Bulldogs stepped up to 5-4 on the season.
