Phillip "Tim" Thompson was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance over the dates of Feb. 3-9, 2020. This is the conference's 15th weekly award for the 2019-20 men's basketball season.
Thompson averaged 20.5 points per game as the Bulldogs won a pair of conference contests last week. The senior guard poured in 24 points on Thursday as JCC defeated Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), 85-74. On Saturday, he contributed 17 points and nine rebounds in an 83-73 victory over Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). The native of Largo, MD made 16-of-31 shots from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line for the week. Thompson is among the top 15 in the RRAC in points (14.4) and rebounds (5.2) per game. Jarvis Christian College is in the running for the final spot in the RRAC tournament with a 4-9 conference mark and 4-15 record overall.
