Two Jarvis Christian University women have been selected to receive leadership awards on behalf of the Virginia State University's LeadHERship Institute at the Women Leaders @ HBCUs National Summit scheduled for June 24-25 at Virginia State University.
JCU President Dr. Glenell M. Lee-Pruitt and JCU Director of Counseling Dr. Kishia James will attend the event to receive their leadership awards.
Dr. Lee-Pruitt will receive the Phenomenal Woman Award. Dr. James will receive the Dream Keepers Award.
Virginia State University’ sWomen’s LeadHERship Institute convenes this conference annually. This year’s theme is Straightening Our Crowns to Cultivate Transformative Leaders: Unsung Heroines of HBCUs. The awards will be presented during the Women Leaders @ HBCUs Conference’s Legacy Luncheon.
“We eagerly await the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary women who are leading the way at HBCUs,” said Dr. Linda Noel-Batiste, executive director of strategic faculty initiatives and innovation and an associate professor in the department of educational leadership. “We are looking forward to celebrating Drs. Lee-Pruitt and James with Jarvis Christian University and other HBCU queens.”
