Jarvis Christian University, in cooperation with UT Health and Wood County Economic Development Commission, is hosting a free student and community health fair from 9 am to noon on Saturday, April 6th, in the E.W. Rand Center varsity gymnasium at U.S. Hwy 80 East and P.R.7631 in Hawkins, Texas.
The event will be filled with health and wellness vendors, screenings for blood pressure, and blood sugar, pregnancy testing, early ultrasounds, and much more. Zumba fitness challenges will be throughout the event. The Carter BloodCare Mobile Unit, Axia Mobile Pregnancy Resource Center Unit, and Special Health Resources Unit (Family Healthcare Centers) will be on-site, along with food trucks, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
Partners for the event include UT Health Quitman, UT Health East Texas, Hawkins Chamber of Commerce, Wood County Health Advisory Board, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Empower Net, and East Texas Chapter of Linnks, Inc. The Andrews Center, Special Health Resources, and the Wood County Economic Development Commission.
