HAWKINS, TX — Jarvis Christian University will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday honoring the life and legacy of the civil rights leader.
All academic classes, administrative offices, and campus services will be suspended for the day. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
As an institution rooted in faith, service, and social justice, Jarvis Christian University encourages students, faculty, and staff to use the day as an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s contributions to equality, peace, and human dignity—and to engage in acts of service and unity within their communities.
