Jarvis Christian University is excited to announce its 2025 Early Start Summer Program (ESSP), a dynamic initiative designed to give incoming students a head start on their college journey. Scheduled to run from June 1 to July 3, 2025, this five-week academic program allows participants to earn up to nine (9) transferable credit hours before the start of the fall semester.
The ESSP is open to newly admitted students who are ready to hit the ground running academically and socially. Whether students prefer in-person or online instruction, this flexible summer option enables them to begin their collegiate careers with confidence, direction, and valuable credit hours that count toward their degrees.
Participants in the program can enroll in courses across several disciplines, including English, history, computer science, and mathematics. All courses are fully transferable and taught by experienced Jarvis faculty members who are committed to student development and academic excellence.
“ESSP is a launchpad for success,” said a university spokesperson. “Students who begin their studies through this program enter the fall semester more confident, more prepared, and better connected to the Jarvis Christian University community. It’s more than just taking classes—it’s an early investment in a strong college foundation.”
Research shows that students who participate in summer bridge or early start programs like ESSP are more likely to persist and graduate from college. The benefits go beyond academics—students also get an early introduction to the expectations of university life, connect with professors and staff, and build meaningful relationships with peers who are beginning their journeys alongside them.
Jarvis Christian University’s ESSP also focuses on college readiness, helping students adjust to the rigors of higher education. Throughout the program, students receive guidance on time management, study skills, and the importance of campus engagement, ensuring they are mentally and emotionally prepared for the transition from high school to college.
In addition to earning college credit, ESSP participants benefit from:
-
Personalized academic support and tutoring
-
Small class sizes and individualized attention
-
Access to student life activities and campus resources
-
A jumpstart on fulfilling general education requirements
For many students, ESSP is the perfect way to reduce the overall time and cost of completing a college degree. By completing up to nine credit hours before the fall semester begins, students not only stay on track—they get ahead.
Jarvis Christian University invites all incoming students to take advantage of this opportunity. The program reflects the university’s broader mission to empower students through faith-based education, academic excellence, and leadership development.
