Jarvis Christian University President Dr. Glenell M. Lee-Pruitt has named Dr. Regina Stovall Robinson to the role of Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, effective July 1, 2024. Robinson has more than 40 years of academic, clinical, and administrative experience in higher education, having most recently served as Jarvis’ Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness since March of 2023.
Robinson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, before completing her science certification in medical technology from the Veterans Administration Medical Center School of Medical Technology in Shreveport, Louisiana. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Human Relations and Supervision from the Department of Psychology at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in biomedical research: Cellular Biology and Anatomy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Robinson has served in a variety of capacities at Southern University at Shreveport Louisiana (SUSLA) including Program Director of Clinical Laboratory Science, Department Chair of Biology and Chemistry, Dean of Allied Health, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, and Vice Chancellor of Research, Sponsored Programs, and Institutional Effectiveness.
Her experience in strategic planning, shaping quality outcomes., and assessing academic programs has been valuable to Jarvis during this past year as she served in the lead role as Associate Vice President Institutional Research and Effectiveness and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Accreditation Liaison. As a detail-oriented and analytical thinker, Robinson also has written institutional grants through the National Institutes of Health. In the capacity of Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Robinson will provide leadership for all academic programs, including leadership in the strategic planning process, matters of academic policy and administration, and accreditation efforts and reports.
