Hawkins, TX – April 16, 2025 — As the spring semester moves toward commencement, Jarvis Christian University is ensuring that its graduating seniors are equipped with every opportunity to advance their educational and professional goals. On Wednesday, April 16, the university hosted its annual Grad School Bound event in Meyers Foyer, a dynamic and interactive program designed to support seniors who are considering continuing their academic journey through graduate studies.
The event, held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, was open to all graduating seniors from Jarvis Christian University and was aimed at demystifying the graduate school application process, providing real-time support, and offering an inspiring look at the future possibilities within reach for the Class of 2025.
From the moment students arrived, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and optimism. Tables were set up with materials highlighting Jarvis Christian University’s growing suite of graduate programs, including offerings in business and criminal justice. Faculty and admissions representatives were on hand to speak one-on-one with students, answer questions, and walk them through academic program details and application requirements.
One of the major highlights of the event was the opportunity for on-the-spot graduate admissions decisions. Qualified students will be able to receive immediate feedback regarding their eligibility based on their academic performance —allowing many to leave the event not only inspired, but also with a concrete plan for their next academic step.
“Grad School Bound is designed to break down the barriers that sometimes hold students back from pursuing graduate education,” said Dr. Saliba Mukoro, Dean of the Graduate School. “We want our students to know that we believe in their potential and are here to support them every step of the way.”
In true Jarvis fashion, the event also included free food and refreshments, allowing students to enjoy a relaxed and celebratory environment while engaging with faculty, alumni, and peers. Informational materials, giveaways, and application incentives added to the festive atmosphere and reinforced the university’s commitment to educational access and student success.
Many graduating seniors expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather helpful information and feel seen and supported during a pivotal moment in their lives. For some, the event was the spark needed to pursue graduate school; for others, it solidified existing plans and offered practical next steps.
As Jarvis Christian University continues to grow its graduate programs and deepen its impact, events like Grad School Bound reflect the institution’s unwavering dedication to nurturing lifelong learners and leaders.
