Jarvis Christian University held its Honors Convocation Tuesday, April 9, to celebrate the scholastic achievements of more than 240 students who were named to the Dean's list, the Distinguished Scholars List, the Barbara C. Jordan Honors Academy inductees, and the Presidential Scholars List.
Keynote speaker Dr. Juan Mejia, preident of Tyler Junior College, encouraged the faculty, staff, and students to work hard and be their best. He was presented a plaque by JCU President Dr. Glenell M. Lee Pruitt following the ceremony.
Two outstanding students, Nicki Lacy from the Adult Education program and Jada M. Williams from the traditional education program on campus were presented "Academic Achievement and Leadership Awards" in reognition of their "exceptional educational accomplishments, outstanding dedication, and commitment to excellence."
