HAWKINS, TX — Jarvis Christian University proudly crowned Collin Preston and Diamond Vaughn as Mister and Miss UNCF 2024-2025, recognizing their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service as ambassadors for both Jarvis Christian University and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
The ceremonial crowning took place during the university’s recent chapel service, where students, faculty, and staff gathered to celebrate the newly selected student leaders who will represent Jarvis Christian University throughout the upcoming academic year in UNCF-related programs and events.
Both Preston and Vaughn will serve as official student liaisons to the UNCF, helping to raise awareness, advocate for scholarships and resources, and represent Jarvis at national and regional events hosted by the organization.
Collin Preston is an active member of several student organizations on campus a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.. A consistent presence in student-led initiatives that promote mentorship, academic achievement, and community engagement, Collin said, “This opportunity is bigger than me. Being Mister UNCF is about giving a voice to students and helping secure resources that open doors for people like me to pursue their dreams through education. I’m honored to represent Jarvis and the mission of the UNCF.”
Diamond Vaughn, brings both grace and determination to her role as Miss UNCF. With a deep-rooted passion for advocacy and equity, Diamond plans to use her platform to highlight the importance of HBCUs in creating generational change. She is known for her commitment to student life, her leadership in women’s empowerment initiatives, and her warm spirit that resonates across campus.
“I’m proud to serve as Miss UNCF and proud to represent an institution like Jarvis that pours into its students,” Vaughn said. “This title allows me to share our story, inspire others, and support the mission of ensuring every student has access to quality education.”
As Mister and Miss UNCF, Collin and Diamond will spearhead fundraising and advocacy efforts on behalf of Jarvis Christian University’s participation in the national UNCF campaign. They will also attend the annual UNCF Leadership Conference, where student leaders from across the country gather for professional development and networking.
