Jarvis Christian University faculty, staff, and students celebrated the April 8 total eclipse of the sun with a watch party in front of the Jarvis Student Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Special eclipse glasses were distributed to all to be able to safely view the planetary phenomenon that occurs when the moon passes between the earth and the sun blockking all or part of the sun's light.
The watch party began with a short lecture from science faculty member. The party featured music, laughter, and a darkening sky.
