The mission of the Department of Kinesiology is to provide a comprehensive education that integrates the science of movement with real-world applications. We aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead, educate, and inspire others in the areas of health, fitness, and physical education.
Our department offers both a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and several specialized courses that prepare students for diverse career paths. Students are exposed to theoretical and practical learning experiences in areas such as Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports Psychology, Nutrition and Wellness, and Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention.
Additionally, students engage in internships and research projects, providing them with real-world experience in clinical, educational, and sports environments.
A degree in Kinesiology from JCU prepares students for careers in various industries, such as: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sports Coaching and Training, Health and Wellness Consulting, Athletic Administration, and Physical Education Teacher (P.E. Certification).
