QUALIFICATIONS: • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field is preferred. • At least five years of human resources management experience demonstrating increased leadership responsibilities over time • Knowledge required in employee relations, classification and compensation, job analysis, job evaluation, recruitment and retention, affirmative action, benefits administration, training and staff development, management of HRIS systems and records, employee engagement and communications, investigations, labor relations, and management of a budget • Broad knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding employment, wage and hour, leaves, etc. • Implement programs, policies, procedures and controls regarding employment; analyze manpower, turnover and other personnel statistics • Prepare, process and direct the input and initialization of employment contracts for full and part-time staff • Monitor employment contacts for equal and fair application of salaries and benefits • Investigate, recommend, and prepare policies effecting personnel. Consult with administration on interpretation and administration of personnel policies. Advise supervisors and others on resolving personnel matters and interpretation of personnel policies and records • Efficient and accurate data entry skills • A precise command of grammar, punctuation, spelling and correct usage of the English language is required • Participates in the development of human resources strategies as they relate to goals, objectives, and operations • Researches and recommends human resources best practices and effectiveness. • Attention to detail, excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills • Ability to multi-task RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides leadership and guidance regarding human resource matters by managing a comprehensive human resource department including recruitment, employment, and retention services, benefits management and counseling, compensation planning, salary administration and job evaluation, training and development, labor and employee relations, succession planning, and human resource information systems and records management • Serves as an advocate for employees by listening and becoming aware of employee needs and concerns, sharing this information with College leadership, researching best practices, and offering options for leaders to consider in addressing employee needs and concerns • Serves as one of the College’s Title IX coordinators • Trains Title IX investigators • Advises employees and supervisors regarding performance and disciplinary issues, administers progressive discipline and grievance procedures consistently, listens to employee and supervisor concerns, conducts investigations as needed, and recommends a plan of action • Contributes to employee engagement by advising and supervising the implementation and administration of employee benefits programs, providing excellent customer service, automating processing systems, communicating information about programs and services, working with benefit plan consultants and vendors, interpreting policies and state and federal laws in a consistent manner, and working with advisory committees to review and implement new and alternative benefits initiatives • Ensures the accuracy of personnel information for all employees by supervising the maintenance of personnel records and reviewing personnel actions for application to the employee database • Manages funds by planning, developing and controlling the departmental budget • Administers a wide variety of personnel policies and programs (e.g. orientation, notice of assignments, compensation schedule, etc.) for the purpose of conforming to district policies, relevant laws, and agreements • Oversee employee orientation and exit interviews • Oversee the maintenance of the human resources information system and employee database including Human Resources Module in Jenzabar and the College’s benefits and payroll system • Coordinate efforts relative to bi-weekly and monthly payroll effectively with the payroll office TO APPLY: Send cover letter, resume, and the names and contact information for three professional references to Office of Human Resources, Jarvis Christian College, P.O.
