Bulldog Athletics Host Hour-A-Thon

Bulldog Athletics Hour-A-Thon Raises [TOTAL] to Support Jarvis Student-Athletes

HAWKINS, Texas — Jarvis Christian University Bulldog Athletics turned one hour into an investment in the future of its student-athletes Tuesday evening during the inaugural Bulldog Athletics Hour-A-Thon, raising [TOTAL RAISED] in support of the University’s athletic programs.

The Hour-A-Thon brought together student-athletes, coaches, alumni, families, friends, and supporters for a concentrated one-hour fundraising effort designed to expand the culture of philanthropy surrounding Jarvis Athletics. During the event, student-athletes reached out to members of their personal networks and invited them to make gifts supporting the Bulldog athletic experience.

By the end of the evening, [NUMBER OF DONORS] donors had contributed [TOTAL RAISED], with gifts benefiting Jarvis Christian University Athletics and its student-athletes.

“This was about more than what we could raise in one night,” said Bobby Ladner, Athletic Director at Jarvis Christian University. “It was about helping our student-athletes understand that they have a role in building the future of Bulldog Athletics. Every gift represents someone who believes in them, our coaches, and what we are building together. We are grateful to everyone who answered the call and invested in our student-athletes.”

The Hour-A-Thon is part of a broader institutional capacity-building partnership between the Department of Athletics and the Division of Institutional Advancement and Development. The collaboration is focused on strengthening the fundraising infrastructure of Jarvis Athletics, expanding its base of supporters, increasing alumni and community engagement, and generating additional philanthropic resources to provide enhanced opportunities for Bulldog student-athletes.

The partnership also introduces student-athletes and coaches to the fundamentals of relationship-based fundraising, donor engagement, and philanthropy while creating sustainable strategies that extend beyond a single fundraising event.

“Building fundraising capacity means moving beyond isolated campaigns and creating systems that can generate support year after year,” said Rev. Dominique I. Grate, Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Development. “The Hour-A-Thon is one component of a comprehensive partnership between Athletics and Advancement designed to grow the number of people invested in Bulldog Athletics and, ultimately, increase the resources available to our student-athletes. This is capacity building in action.”

Funds generated through the initiative will help strengthen the student-athlete experience and support the continued growth of Jarvis Christian University’s athletic programs.

The Hour-A-Thon also represents another step toward creating a stronger culture of philanthropy across the University, empowering members of the Jarvis community to recognize that institutional advancement is a shared responsibility.

With [TOTAL RAISED] raised in just one hour, Tuesday evening demonstrated what can happen when Bulldogs work together toward a common goal.

And for Jarvis Athletics, the Hour-A-Thon is only the beginning.
