Jarvis Christian University (JCU) has officially received a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), marking a significant milestone in the university’s 112-year history.

The reaffirmation, with no recommendations for changes, is a testament to the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence and institutional effectiveness. The SACSCOC’s decision to reaffirm JCU’s accreditation in this manner is a rare and impressive achievement that underscores the university’s strong academic standing and commitment to providing quality education to its students.

"We are honored and excited to receive this 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation," said JCU President Dr. Glenell M. Lee-Pruitt. "This affirmation speaks to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, students, and administration. It validates our ongoing efforts to provide an outstanding education while focusing on continuous improvement. We are proud to be a university that meets and exceeds the expectations set forth by SACSCOC."

The reaffirmation process occurs every 10 years and comprehensively evaluates a university’s academic programs, faculty, resources, and operational practices. It entails an in-depth self-study and the university’s detailed response/feedback to a team of peer evaluators selected by the SACSCOC team of administrators.

The university’s Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), centered around career readiness and ensuring Jarvis students are highly employable and prepared for the future, was approved, as was the institution’s new graduate programs—the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Science in Criminal Justice.

"We are proud of our legacy and excited about the future," Lee-Pruitt said. "This reaffirmation of accreditation positions JCU as a leader in higher education, particularly in our region, and assures our students they are receiving an education that meets the highest standards"
