Jarvis Christian University President Dr. Glenell M. Lee-Pruitt will be honored for her work in ministry and education as the New Arts Musique presents Trendsetters Honors Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2023, at the Baptist Bible Fellowship Church at 8900 Kingston Road in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The evening will feature food and entertainment as seven are honored for their service to the Shreveport area community. Catering is by Candlelight Catering & Service.
Dr. Pruitt served as pastor of St. Matthew AME Church in Shreveport before becoming the 13th president of Jarvis Christian University on July 1, 2023.
Other honorees include Thelma Harrison for storytelling, Dr. Cynthia Montgomery for medical service, the Rev. Linda Baker for music ministry, Judge Carl E. Steward for his work in the federal judiciary, Dr. Daryl W. Mitchell for medical service, and Cleveland White for music education.
