HAWKINS, TX — Jarvis Christian University is proud to announce a new partnership with Collin College, located in McKinney, Texas, establishing a transfer agreement that will create seamless academic pathways for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees. This collaboration is designed to support student success, increase degree completion rates, and expand opportunities for learners across North and East Texas.

The articulation agreement between the two institutions formalizes a strategic partnership that allows students who complete associate degrees at Collin College to transfer directly into designated bachelor’s degree programs at Jarvis Christian University. The agreement provides a clear academic roadmap, helping students avoid loss of credits and ensuring a smooth transition from the two-year institution to the four-year university experience.

“This partnership represents our shared commitment to making higher education more accessible, affordable, and achievable,” said Dr. Glenell M. Lee-Pruitt, President of Jarvis Christian University. “By working together, Jarvis and Collin College are opening doors for students who want to continue their education and build brighter futures.”

The agreement outlines multiple benefits for students, including:

  • Streamlined Transfer Process: Clear transfer guides that align coursework between institutions.

  • Guaranteed Admission: For eligible students completing their associate degrees at Collin College.

  • Scholarship Opportunities: Transfer students from Collin College will be considered for institutional scholarships at Jarvis Christian University.

  • Advising Support: Joint academic advising to help students stay on track and make informed decisions.

Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to reduce barriers to degree completion, particularly for first-generation college students, adult learners, and underrepresented populations.

“Collin College is excited to partner with Jarvis Christian University, an institution with a rich legacy of academic excellence and student support,” said a representative from Collin College. “Together, we are creating opportunities for students to achieve their educational and career goals without interruption or unnecessary financial burden.”

This partnership also reflects Jarvis Christian University’s ongoing commitment to expanding its reach through regional collaborations. As a historically Black university affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Jarvis offers degrees at the associate, bachelor’s, and master’s levels, with a focus on preparing students intellectually, spiritually, and socially for leadership and service.

“Today’s students deserve institutions that collaborate, not compete,” said Dr. Regina S. Robinson, Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at JCU. “Our partnership with Collin College shows that we are serious about building bridges, not barriers, and about creating equitable access to higher education for all.”

The agreement goes into effect for the Fall 2025 academic term, and both institutions are planning joint sessions to introduce the transfer process to students, advisors, and faculty.
